From
1976 in Civita of Bagnoregio a prestigious didactic activity of
architecture and town-planning is held by the professor Astra Zarina.
Astra Zarina is professor of Architecture and Town-planning at Washington
University in Seattle and she lives in Civita of Bagnoregio. Every
year students of this university make a ten week didactic research.
It concerns the study of the costums, culture, the historic architectural
and urban development of the town of Civita and of its surroundings.
The didactic activity includes seminars on the history of the town
with the collaboration of professors coming from the universities
of Rome, Naples, Palermo, Reggio Calabria and Washington University.
The seminars also include the partecipation of students from the
universities of Turin, Palermo and Reggio Calabria.
Few
notes about professor Astra Zarina: she has been put in charge of
both Architecture and Town-plannig Departments in Seattle. Zarina
is the founder and the principal of three university programs in
Italy: Architecture in Roma 1 e 2 started in 1970 and 1983 and Studies
on Towns of Etruscan origin started in 1975 and held in Civita.
